It's road construction season in Minnesota, which must mean one thing: Minnesota Highway 100 in the west metro is closing this weekend.
But this time, it's being joined by Interstate 494.
Both directions of Highway 100 between Interstate 394 in Golden Valley and Minnesota Highway 62 will close beginning at 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday, the Minnesota Department of Transportation said.
The closure will allow crews to complete demolition of the Minnesota Highway 7 bridge, part of a larger Highway 100 project that'll reconstruct some of the roadway and add lanes.

Motorists will be detoured via Interstate 35W, I-394 and Highway 62.
The headaches don't end there. Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday, I-494 will close between I-394 in Minnetonka and Interstate 694/Interstate 94 in Maple Grove while crews move both directions of I-494 traffic to the southbound lanes, ahead of reconstruction work on northbound I-494.
Two lanes of traffic will be open in each direction on southbound I-494 during the work.
Motorists will be detoured around the closure via I-694, U.S. Highway 169 and I-394.
The work is part of a two-year I-494 project that includes repairing pavement and adding a third lane on a portion of northbound traffic, replacing bridges and building noise walls.
Several additional closures associated with the work on I-494 are planned this year. A full list can be found here.
