Highway 100 closure tops Twin Cities weekend road woes

Patience will be in great need this weekend driving in swaths of the Twin Cities metropolitan area, especially in the west metro where two big chunks of north-south highway will be closed.
Here are the major road closings and lane reductions, weather permitting. Find the complete list at the Minnesota Department of Transportation website.
Minnesota Highway 100. Highway 100 will close in both directions between Interstate 394 in Golden Valley and Minnesota Highway 62 from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.
Interstate 494. I-494 between Interstate 94/694 in Maple Grove and I-394 in Minnetonka will shut at 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.
Minnesota Highway 5. Highway 5 between Davern Street in St. Paul and Minnesota Highway 55 will be reduced to one lane in each direction through November. Several ramps are also closed.
Lexington Avenue Bridge, St. Paul. The bridge over I-94 will close and be detoured through May 8.
