NOAA has issued a tornado watch until 9 pm for most of central Minnesota including the western edge of the Twin Cities metro. Severe storms moving through Minnesota today have the capability to produce tornadoes, large hail to 3" in diameter and widespread damaging wind events. Flash flooding is also possible.

* TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF WESTERN AND SOUTHERN MINNESOTA
EASTERN SOUTH DAKOTA
* EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 205 PM UNTIL 900 PM CDT.
* PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...A COUPLE INTENSE TORNADOES POSSIBLE SCATTERED DAMAGING WINDS LIKELY WITH ISOLATED SIGNIFICANT GUSTS TO 75 MPH POSSIBLE
SCATTERED LARGE HAIL LIKELY WITH ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 3 INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE
SUMMARY...THUNDERSTORMS...INCLUDING SUPERCELLS AND CLUSTERS/BANDS OF OTHER INTENSE STORMS...EXPECTED TO MOVE/DEVELOP GENERALLY EAST OR EAST-SOUTHEAST ACROSS WATCH AREA THROUGH EARLY TONIGHT. SOME STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF VERY LARGE HAIL...DAMAGING WIND...AND TORNADOES.
