Breezy and cooler; temps rebound this weekend

The early morning satellite loop shows clouds associated with a pesky low-pressure system near Duluth:

Northeastern Minnesota and much of Wisconsin will see some showers today, and possibly an isolated thunderstorm, as the low-pressure system tracks southeastward.

In the Twin Cities, an isolated shower is possible, but most of us will just see a mix of clouds and sun. It will be breezy and less humid today, with cooler high temps:

Nice Saturday

A high-pressure system will bring us plenty of sunshine on Saturday:

The final frame of the loop shows a chance of showers and thunderstorms returning to northwestern Minnesota on Sunday morning. By late Sunday, southeastern Minnesota could also see some scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Severe Risk Sunday

The Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service shows a slight risk of severe weather Sunday and Sunday night over northwestern Minnesota:

The main risk of severe weather would tend to be later in the day.

Weekend temps

Highs recover a bit on Saturday:

And Sunday highs will be even warmer:

Dew points will creep up a bit on Sunday, so it might feel a bit humid in the afternoon and evening.

Steamy Monday, with late day storms

A low-pressure system moves closer on Monday, giving us southerly breezes and dew points close to 70 degrees.

One forecast model shows storms developing over Minnesota by late Monday afternoon and Monday evening:

If everything comes together, there would be the potential for severe weather late Monday.
