Our cool front came through with a bang in parts of the metro.
In a fairly unusual occurrence, a couple of severe weather warnings were issued with no severe weather watch area of risk zone from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Storm Prediction Center.
The Twin Cities National Weather Service office blasted out this tweet around lunchtime Wednesday as the storms gathered in the west metro.
Thankfully, damage reports are minimal, but it's a good reminder that severe storms can pop up sometimes with little warning, especially during peak heating in the early afternoon.

Pleasant end to week
High pressure builds south over the Great Lakes from Canada Thursday and Friday. This air mass delivers cooler temperatures, and dew points back into the comfortable 50s across most of Minnesota. Showers and thunderstorms are pushed south.
What does Canadian high pressure feel like in late July? How about this for a great looking forecast heading into the weekend?
