The Minnesota Vikings have signed head coach Mike Zimmer to a new long-term contract.
General Manager Rick Spielman says the deal will keep Zimmer on the job for a "long time" though the terms were not disclosed.
The signing comes as the team's training camp starts in Mankato with the first practices happening Friday.
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Howard Sinker, a digital sports editor for the Star Tribune, about the new deal with Zimmer and the upcoming NFL season.
