Average weather can feel very good in August!
We hit 82 degrees in the Twin Cities on Saturday, which is also our average high this time of year.

Southeasterly winds on the back side of the high pressure system will spread higher dew points over Minnesota on Monday and Tuesday.
Central and southern Minnesota will see dew points in the 60s Monday and early Tuesday, with dew points near 70 late Tuesday and in the lower 70s on Wednesday. When dew points hit 70 degrees, it feels tropical out there!
Minnesota high temps will be in the 80s Monday. Highs in the upper 80s to around 90 are expected over southern Minnesota and the Twin Cities on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Thunderstorm chances increase
There is a chance of thunderstorms in western and northern Minnesota Monday night, and some very scattered thunderstorms could develop over Minnesota and western Wisconsin on Tuesday.
The best chance of strong thunderstorms and substantial rain would be late Wednesday into Thursday.
The National Weather Service Global Forecast System model shows a low pressure system over eastern South Dakota Wednesday night, with rain over much of Minnesota:
Forecasting exact rainfall amounts 4 days in advance is impossible, but this National Weather Service product shows some 2 to 3 inch rainfall totals from Wednesday through Thursday night:
It does look like some spots in Minnesota and western Wisconsin could receive significant rainfall totals, especially from Wednesday evening through Thursday.
Favorite season
The Twin Cities office of the National Weather Service conducted an "unscientific" online poll to determine the favorite season of Minnesota and Wisconsin residents.
A total of 1028 votes were tallied, and Fall was the big winner, with 63% of the vote!
