Today's Morning Edition music starts with the original Ghostbusters theme by Ray Parker Jr.
The song started a three-week run at No. 1 on the U.S. singles chart on this date in 1984.
It was nominated at the 57th Academy Awards for Best Original Song. But Parker was later accused of plagiarizing the melody from the song "I Want a New Drug" by Huey Lewis and the News.
Lewis sued Parker and they settled out of court in 1985.
