The "hook-up" narrative is rampant, but the number of millennials having sex is not. 

Millennials are waiting longer to have sex and having fewer sexual partners than the Gen X'ers or Boomers before them, according to a recent 

 is a psychology professor at San Diego State, and one of the authors for the study.  She spoke with MPR News host Kerri Miller to talk about the trends she found along with

Despite the "hook-up" narrative millennials are having less sex than the generations before them.

Are Millennials contributing to a sexless trend? Here's the thing: Fifteen percent of young adults ages 20-24 who were born in the 1990s said they had no sex partners since age 18, while just 6% of GenX'ers admitted the same when recalling the romps of their early twenties. But what about all of the news that we're in a hookup culture? And why are more young adults pushing off sex?
