One of the newest attractions at the Minnesota State Fair this year isn't a ride or anything on a stick.
This year, the fair is giving away a half dozen collectible recipe cards that feature Blue Ribbon-winning foods from State Fair competitions.
The Recipe Card Roundup started Thursday with strawberry jam made by Kim Mueller, a retired cosmetics and human resources executive from Shakopee.
One of the others handing out recipes was John Barbari, who created a blue-ribbon winning zesty salsa. Barbari got a pink ribbon for his barbecue sauce this year.
Candy Freeman won a blue ribbon for her gluten-free pumpkin bars in 2015, a recipe she's been working on for years. She is back at the Minnesota State Fair this year, handing out her award-winning recipe as part of the new Recipe Card Roundup.
