Call it a million dollar weekend.
This weekend features increasing sunshine Saturday, followed by a summer-like Sunday. Mild temperatures in the 70s and comfortable dew points in the 50s make for one of the nicest weekend of fall across Minnesota. Anglers, tailgaters, walkers, bikers, joggers and power loungers will all find something to smile about this 3rd weekend in September.
Thursday night soaking
Our latest soaking delivered as expected Thursday night. Most of us picked up between .50" and 1" rainfall as expected.

Nice weekend
Low pressure glides away from Minnesota this weekend. Southerly breezes boost temperature into the upper 70s Sunday afternoon.
Skies remain mostly dry across the Upper Midwest into early next week.
The next chance for significant rainfall likley holds off until next Wednesday.
Colder by the end of September?
I could probably write that header every year. Next week still looks fairly mild, but the upper air pattern does seem to favor a significant cool down ahead the last week of September as northwest flow kicks in aloft.
NOAA's Climate Prediction Center grabs hold of the trend, with average to cooler than average temperatures favored over the Northern Plains.
If the maps verify, it could be touch and go for metro frost during the last week of September.
