This weekend's traffic might not be as hairy as last, but make sure to steer clear of a few stretches of interstate in the northern metro.
Also, a truck convoy raising money for Special Olympics Minnesota will cause major delays near the National Sports Center in Blaine midmorning on Saturday.
Here's what to look out for — and avoid — this weekend:

Interstate 694, Fridley and New Brighton
Westbound I-694 between Interstate 35W and Silver Lake Road will be closed to traffic from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday. All ramps from Silver Lake Road and west will be open.
Interstate 35W, Blaine to Wyoming
Expect major backups and delays from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday — that's when a Special Olympics truck convoy will stretch about 2 miles in both directions of I-35W between Lexington Avenue in Blaine and Interstate 35E in Wyoming.
U.S. Highway 52/Lafayette Bridge, St. Paul
The southbound side of the bridge will be closed to traffic beginning at 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday between Interstate 94 and Plato Boulevard south of the river.
Minnesota Highway 5, St. Paul
Some good news: All lanes of the Highway 5 bridge are expected to be open during rush hour starting at 6 a.m. Monday, weather permitting. The bridge will be open in all lanes from 6-9 a.m. and 3-6 p.m.
Work continues that could require the closing of the right lane in both directions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Right lanes will be closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily.
