Today's Morning Edition music is from 50 years ago today when "You Can't Hurry Love" by the Supremes was No. 1 on the Billboard pop chart.
It was the seventh song by the Supremes to top the charts.
Brian Holland came up with the melody and his brother Eddie Holland wrote the words. Those words were based in part on a gospel song from the 1950's entitled "You Can't Hurry God."
