They don’t call it Superior for nothing

Few places on earth seem to do autumn as well as northern Minnesota and Wisconsin.

In a perfect world, it would last longer.

Alas, it is not a perfect world.

Cory Fechner sends this postcard today.

"There are two main sets of falls between Highway 61 and the lake," he writes. "The last set drops 40 to 50 feet directly into Lake Superior, making it one of only a few waterfalls that drop directly into Lake Superior. The land from Highway 61 to the lake at the Manitou River is private and due to the high cliffs and private land, the only way to view and access the base of the falls that directly fall into Lake Superior is by watercraft. I have paddled to these falls by kayak from Sugar Loaf recreation area water access and it is roughly five miles one way.
