By the time the rain pushes east Wednesday, some 1" to 2" rainfall totals are likely. It's the first soaking rain a over a week for Minnesota. NOAA's NAM model cranks out a solid inch of rainfall for much of southern Minnesota including the Twin Cities.
Quick hitting rain system
Our overnight rainfall is quick to arrive, and quick to pull out Wednesday. Thursday and Friday look dry. A mild southerly breeze now looks to boost temps well into the 60s Friday afternoon.
Halloween: More treat than trick?
Halloween is looking milder than it did a few days ago. NOAA's GFS model and the trusty European are split on rain chances, but both agree on milder temps with a high around 60 degrees, and trick or treat temps likely in the 50s.
It's interesting to note that long-range guidance keeps temperatures mostly above 32 degrees for the next 1-2 weeks. If that forecast verifies, We could be challenging the longest growing season on record at MSP. Growing seasons are getting longer on average across the nation as climate change extends the frost-free season in most years.
