MPR News host Tom Weber opened the phone lines to talk about the final game in the World Series.

Here's what a couple of them had to say:

"I have a family friend in Red Wing who turned 108 last month. She was 1 month old when the Cubs last won the world series. She tells me stories of watching the Civil War veterans walk in the 4th of [July] parades... the Civil War had only [ended] 43 prior to the 1908 World Series." - Christopher Warrington

"I can hardly even speak! ... I am so emotional about them having gotten this far. I grew up in Chicago as a Cubs and Sox fan since my dad came from St. Louis and he was a Cardinals fan. We went to so many games together, taking the train downtown. The Cubs never won. I remember being in 5th grade in 1985 and our teacher would play the game on the radio in the afternoons. Billy Williams still lives in my mom's neighborhood. I am just emotional and happy!" - Jenna Little
