Today's Morning Editon music is from the song "I Don't Want to Play Guitar Anymore" by Alejandro Escovedo from his new album "Burn Something Beautiful."
He'll be performing Tuesday night at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis. He collaborated on the album with REM's Peter Buck who suggested the idea for this tune.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the 65-year old Escovedo says that the song deals with his own mortality, which was on his mind after a long battle with hepatitis C.
