Today's Morning Edition music is from 30 years ago when "Amanda" by Boston was No. 1 on the Billboard pop chart.
It was the band's first and only No. 1 hit. The song was on their third album, which took Boston leader Tom Scholz seven years to complete.
During the album's production Scholz was being sued by CBS Records for failing to deliver new music as quickly as his contract required. CBS also withheld royalty payments during the litigation.
To finance his music production, Scholz started a company that invented the popular Rockman headphone amplifier.
