Today's Morning Edition music is from Charlie Parr with "Slim Tall's Christmas on the Lam."

The song is featured on a new holiday compilation album from St. Paul-based Red House Records. Red House writes: "It's an eclectic mix of lust, lament and gratitude ... like the season itself."

The album also features The Pines, a local group from Minneapolis, and other roots and folk classics like Dale Watson, the Wailin' Jennys, and Robin & Linda Williams.

Charlie Parr is playing Wednesday night at the 331 Club in Minneapolis.
