Richard Painter, professor of corporate law at the University of Minnesota, is suing President Trump for violating the Constitution's Emolument Clause.
Painter worked as chief ethics lawyer in the Republican administration of President George W. Bush. He believes that President Trump's efforts to sell off some assets and place the rest into a blind trust do not go far enough. Painter is pursuing the lawsuit with former White House ethics lawyer Norm Eisen.
Painter joined MPR News host Tom Weber to discuss his lawsuit.
