Today's Morning Edition music is from "Wonder Where I'm From" by the Magnetic Fields.

It's a track from "50 Song Memoir" the latest concept album created by the band's leader Stephin Merritt.

Each of the 50 songs represents a year in his life. It starts with this song, which describes his conception in the Virgin Islands and nomadic early years.

The five-CD set will be released on Friday, but you can listen to a different disc from it every day this week on NPR's First Listen page.

The Magnetic Fields will be performing all 50 songs over two nights at St. Paul's Fitzgerald Theater on April 22-23.
