Today's Morning Edition music is from "Cherokee Street" by Son Volt off their new album "Notes of Blue."
They'll be performing Wednesday night at First Avenue in Minneapolis.

"With this recording, I was aiming for where folk and blues and country converge. I think it was the realization that blues was an important part of early country music," Farrar told The Capital Times.
