A Bemidji man pleaded guilty Tuesday several felonies, including killing his girlfriend and kidnapping a 5-year-old girl.
It's been almost a year since Melissa Norby was found in the burned wreckage of her Bemidji mobile home, and investigators began looking for the child in her care at the time of the fire.
They found the girl alive and tied up in a camper owned by Jacob William Kinn, a convicted sex offender.
They also found proof that Kinn and Norby planned the kidnapping together.
Kinn pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, kidnapping and sexual assaulting the child.
Later this month he is expected to be sentenced to 52 years in prison.
