Washington Post technology reporter Brian Fung joined MPR News host Tom Weber to talk about the Federal Communications Commission's plan to roll back regulations on high-speed internet.
In May, the FCC voted to start the process of replacing Obama-era rules on so-called net neutrality. Under the new rules, internet providers will be free to slow down internet services for some customers and even to block certain sites.
Critics of the FCC's latest action are concerned that cable and wireless companies can select who should have high-speed internet and who's denied it.
On July 12, Amazon, Kickstarter, Reddit, Mozilla and other companies plan to stage an online protest against deregulation.
Kickstarter's general counsel, Michal Rosenn, also joined the conversation.
