The number of people around the world who have been forcibly displaced from their homes is now at more than 65 million, according to a Monday report from the United Nations. That includes some 22 million refugees and 40 million people who have been displaced within their own countries.
On Tuesday, World Refugee Day, MPR News host Tom Weber spoke with Daniel Wordsworth of the Minnesota-based aid organization American Refugee Committee (ARC) about the state of refugees around the world, the future of refugee aid and ARC's efforts around the globe.
