Today's Morning Edition music is from X with their version of "Wild Thing."

X will be performing Wednesday night at First Avenue in Minneapolis. The show will feature the same four people who founded the band in Los Angeles 40 years ago.

Lead singer Exene Cervenka recently told Rolling Stone:

"Right now is my favorite time in the band. I have this feeling of awe like I did when we started. We are still alive. We're still playing music. People are still coming to see us and they tell us our music got them through bad times or their kid turned them onto us or their parents turned them onto us. This is exactly how punk was supposed to end up."
