The father of a toddler accidentally shot in St. Cloud earlier this week has been arrested in Montana.
Police were called to a St. Cloud hospital Monday when a woman arrived with her 3-year-old son, who had a gunshot wound. The child's wounds were not considered life threatening.
Police determined that the boy had accidentally shot himself with a loaded firearm within his reach. An arrest warrant was issued for the boy's father, who could face charges of possessing a gun as a felon and negligent storage of a firearm.
The father was arrested at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at a traffic stop in Miles City, Montana. He will be held in custody pending extradition.
