While most of us are getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner Thursday, the Minnesota Vikings will be playing an important game. The Vikes have won six straight games and are in first place in the NFC North. They'll play the team that is behind them in the standings and the last team they lost to: the Detroit Lions.
If the Vikings win, it puts them in a very strong position to make the playoffs.
One of the people who will be watching the game closely is Neal Guggemos. He grew up in rural Winsted, went to college at St. Thomas, then made the leap to the Vikings and the NFL in 1987. He played pro football for three years, and now lives in Eden Prairie.
He spoke to MPR's Cathy Wurzer.
