The state of Minnesota accepted $850 million from manufacturing giant 3M over water contamination.
The state alleges that 3M knew decades ago about risks linked to its chemicals that wound up in the groundwater in the east metro. Those chemicals are called perfluorochemicals, or PFCs. 3M faces at least two dozen lawsuits related to PFCs around the country.
Lori Swanson, Minnesota's Attorney General, joined the program to discuss what the settlement means. Then, host Mike Mulcahy was joined by reporter Elizabeth Dunbar, who provided background about the company and lawsuit.
