Owen Husney, who is best known as Prince's first manager, has published a book about his life in the music business called "Famous People Who've Met Me."
In it, he tells stories about Prince, Janis Joplin, Elvis Presley and many others. Husney writes that he was in charge of logistics when the Rolling Stones played at the Met Center in 1972.
Their contract called for a Steinway piano to be played by Nicky Hopkins. Husney reports that he convinced Schmidt Music to rent him one, but the employee who agreed to the deal got fired after the piano was returned with parts of its legs sawed off.
