The head coach of the University of Minnesota women's basketball team is taking a job in Texas.
Texas Tech University announced Monday that Marlene Stollings has been hired as the school's new women's basketball coach.
Stollings resigned from Minnesota after leading the team for four years. The program went 67-47 during her tenure.
During her time at the U of M, Stollings' teams went to the NCAA tournament twice — including this season, when the team reached the second round.
"I appreciate what Coach Stollings accomplished in her time with us, particularly this past season when her team provided some great memories for Gopher fans. We wish her the best in her new position," said University of Minnesota Athletics Director Mark Coyle in a statement. "We have already begun identifying candidates to be our next head coach."
