It was a wintry awakening up north Friday.
There were reports of some power outages and heavy wet snow broke some tree branches. You knew this was coming sooner or later.
Most of northern Minnesota picked up 1 to 3 inches. Welcome to the snow season.

Scattered rain and drizzle continue in northern Minnesota overnight into early Saturday.

Most of Minnesota will be dry but cool this weekend. Temps may crack 60 in the Twin Cities again by Tuesday. But the overall pattern looks cool.

Another soaking next week
Our weather pattern is stuck. Cool air is in place. A series of low-pressure waves continues to take aim. The next system looks strong and slow. That means more widespread soaking to heavy rains again next Monday through Wednesday.

Many models suggest another 1 to 3 inches of rain next week. Locally higher totals are possible.
