It's been 30 years since the Beach Boys classic "Kokomo" topped the Billboard pop chart.

At the time, it was the band's first number one hit in 22 years, and their only chart-topper not written or produced by Brian Wilson. The first version of the song was written by the Mamas and the Papas' John Phillips. Mike Love then modified it to fit in the storyline of the Tom Cruise movie "Cocktail."
