Baby Jesus is missing!
The St. Cloud Times says someone walked off with the antique statue, owned by the Stearns History Museum and on display in a nativity scene at a U.S. Bank branch.
"We just want the piece back — undamaged, no questions asked," said Carie Essig, the museum's executive director.
What's a nativity scene without the main character?
The nativity scene dates back to 1945, when local school kids raised money through a penny drive to buy it. It's been on display in St. Cloud almost every year since, according to Essig.
"We're just extremely disappointed it's gone missing and that they would take a piece of culture and history," Essig tells the paper. "We haven't ever had to place a ton of security around these pieces because people have always been very respectful with them."
