Singer-songwriter Wes Urbaniak kicks off his Midwest tour Wednesday night in Minneapolis at the Warming House.
Urbaniak hails from Billings, Mont., where he also builds guitars. He sells them in his store, but has also given many of them away to fans.
Several years ago he offered to give a custom guitar to every fan who sent him a handwritten letter every month for a year — his way of nudging people off their phones. In total, he gave away 14 guitars.
Now, he has a new campaign going. Whoever writes him a full-page, single-space letter will be entered into a drawing for a custom-made guitar. One winner will be selected at the end of the year. Letters can be mailed to:
