Ice out on Minnesota lakes is progressing north. Many lakes in northern Minnesota are now ice-free. The latest map from the Minnesota DNR shows the progress.
A sampling of lakes shows ice out is running 3 to 5 days behind long-term averages on most lakes this year.

Minnesota's weather takes a (welcome) turn for the milder as we approach the weekend. Highs in the 60s will be more common Friday and Saturday. The Twin Cities and southern Minnesota make a run at 70 degrees Saturday afternoon. Highs bounce around through the 60s for most of next week.
