Tame Impala stops in the Twin Cities on Tuesday and Wednesday for sold-out shows at Surly Festival Field.
The band’s summer tour was presumably scheduled to promote a new album, but that album has not yet been released. Tame Impala’s leader Kevin Parker told Huck magazine recently that when he started out, he was making music for himself.
“But to actually be successful, by definition, means that there are now lots of people anticipating it,” he said. “That changes the creative process because I don’t feel like I’m making it just for me [anymore].”
