South St. Paul police say an 11-year-old girl reported missing earlier in the weekend was found safe on Sunday.
"As this is an active investigation, no further details, including the location where she was located, will be released at this time," Police Chief William Messerich said in a news release just before 5 p.m.
Authorities had asked for help finding the girl, saying earlier Sunday that she may have been lured away by an online acquaintance.
The girl was reported missing on Saturday. Police said she was last seen around midnight, and reported missing about 9 a.m.
She left “information behind suggesting she left willingly," police said earlier Saturday. "Investigation revealed (the girl) possibly formed an online relationship and that individual may be involved."
