Janet Jackson released her “Rhythm Nation 1814” album 30 years ago this month. It was one of several successful albums by Jackson that were recorded and produced at Flyte Time Studios in Minneapolis, and the songs Jackson wrote for the album with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were more socially conscious than her previous work.
Jackson will be back in Minnesota for an outdoor show on Saturday at the Treasure Island Casino amphitheater in Red Wing.
