The Minnesota Twins return to Target Field on Monday night for their third playoff game against the New York Yankees. Trampled by Turtles will sing the national anthem before the game.
Lead singer Dave Simonett told the Current’s Jay Gabler that the band has been asked to sing the anthem before and turned it down, but they decided to go for it this time, in Monday’s playoff game.
“It’s not an easy song to sing,” Simonett said, “and I’m not really a singer. It’s got a big range, bigger than my range, but I’ll just do the best I can. They know who they asked. They’re not getting Celine Dion here.”
