Minnesota is one of several states celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day on Monday in place of Columbus Day. Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan will participate in several Indigenous Peoples Day events, including an indigenous food tasting on Monday evening at the American Indian Center in Minneapolis.
On MPR’s sister station The Current, the 9:30 Coffee Break segment highlighted the work of Native musicians — including William Prince, who recorded a version of his song “Breathless” in the Current’s studios.
