Asian-American women are expected to be submissive and quiet. Funny Asian Women Kollective, also known as FAWK, is a Twin Cities-based comedy group out to change that stereotype. The group will perform Saturdayat the Ordway.
Then: New Orleans-born jazz trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard is much more than a musician. A few years ago he released an album called “Breathless,” titled after Eric Garner’s last words. He recorded another album in Minneapolis, Cleveland and Dallas, three cities where encounters with police and African Americans ended in shooting deaths. He will perform “Caravan: A Revolution on the Road” at the Ordway on Saturday night.
