Our Saturday high was 56 degrees at Minneapolis-St.Paul International Airport. We probably won’t see temperatures that mild anytime in the next 7 to 10 days.
Temperature trends
Sunday highs will be mainly in the 30s across the northwestern half of Minnesota, with a lot of 40s elsewhere in Minnesota and into western Wisconsin. Parts of the Twin Cities metro area could reach highs in the mid 40s this Sunday, which is well below our average Oct. 27 high of 53 degrees.
Monday highs will be mainly in the 30s, but a few spots in the metro area, southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin could touch 40:

Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to reach around 40 on Tuesday, followed by upper 30s on Wednesday and Thursday (Halloween). Temps drop into the mid 30s Halloween evening for the trick-or-treaters. Highs in the lower 40s are on tap for Friday.
Rain and snow chances
Minnesota and western Wisconsin will see some areas of rain showers and snow showers at times this Sunday.
A weather system tracking to our south could deliver some light snow accumulations to southeastern Minnesota and parts of western Wisconsin Monday evening and Monday night. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Global Forecast System (GFS) model shows the potential precipitation pattern from Monday afternoon through the overnight hours of Monday night:
This track would give the Twin Cities metro area a chance of snow showers Monday night. Parts of eastern Iowa and far southern Wisconsin could see a few inches of snow.
A more significant snow event is possible on Halloween. NOAA’s GFS model shows the potential precipitation pattern from Wednesday night through Friday morning:
Snow totals from the Thursday/Thursday night snow event will probably be much higher in many areas than the Monday night event, but the metro area would probably see only minor snow accumulation with the track that’s depicted. Check forecast updates.
California wildfires
Wildfires continue to rage in parts of California:
In addition to severe weather watches, the NWS Storm Prediction Center also issues fire weather outlooks:
Critical to extreme fire weather conditions will continue into tonight in the highlighted areas of California. The SPC fire weather outlook discussion indicates that winds are expected to decrease on Monday, which should help the firefighters.
