Parker Palmer is the founder of the Center for Courage and Renewal and the author of several books, including, “Healing the Heart of Democracy.”
He stresses the importance of compassion and connection.
Palmer told the audience at the Westminster Town Hall Forum that democracy is a continuous movement and we “need more conversations across ‘so-called’ lines.”
Palmer, who started out as a community organizer and sociologist, said we must “speak the truth. And speak the truth in love.”
Parker Palmer is the author of several bestselling books, including “A Hidden Wholeness,” “Let Your Life Speak,” “The Courage to Teach,” “Healing the Heart of Democracy” and “On the Brink of Everything.”
Parker Palmer spoke in conversation with Sondra Samuels, the president of the Northside Achievement Zone in north Minneapolis. The Westminster Town Hall Forum was held at Westminster Presbyterian Church in downtown Minneapolis on Nov. 16, 2019.
