Many businesses are taking a big financial hit from the coronavirus pandemic, as are colleges and universities. Cities across the country are also facing significant declines in tax revenue, even as they commit to emergency spending on aid and supplies.
In Minneapolis, Mayor Jacob Frey says he wants to support low-income tenants through this crisis, while also avoiding major cuts down the line. MPR News host Cathy Wurzer spoke with Frey about the city’s economic forecast and its coronavirus response.
