Most forecast models, and the official National Hurricane Center track forecast bring the storm to near New Orleans late Sunday night into Monday morning.
The latest European model forecast places the center of Cristobal very close to New Orleans late Sunday night.

The storm will move over the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico this weekend. That means it will likely intensify before it reaches the Gulf Coast. The big question is how much will it strengthen? Most forecast models keep Cristobal at tropical storm strength before landfall.
