Temperatures remain slightly below average the first half of the week, then the heat and higher humidity return by late week. Tuesday brings the return of wet weather, especially for northern Minnesota.
Monday’s forecast
Following morning lows ranging from the 40s to 60s, afternoon highs for most of Minnesota stay just a couple degrees below average Monday, from the mid-70s to lower 80s.
Humidity remains lower and winds stay light, so overall it will be a comfortable day.
Skies stay be mostly sunny, with a few more clouds developing in the afternoon. By late Monday, an approaching storm will bring showers and storms into western Minnesota.

A wet Tuesday
Showers and storms spread across the state overnight Monday, bringing wet weather to most of the state Tuesday.
Heavier rain is most likely in central and northern Minnesota, where much of the day stays wet, and some totals could exceed an inch of precipitation.
For southern Minnesota, rain chances are highest in the morning hours, although spotty chances continue in the afternoon. There is also a very isolated chance for severe storms with this system, especially for the eastern half of the state.
The rain clears out for most of the state by Tuesday evening, although spotty showers and storms could linger in northern Minnesota, especially the Arrowhead, through the night.
Extended forecast
Wednesday will be much like Monday, with mostly sunny skies, comfortable highs from the mid-70s to low 80s, lower humidity, and a chance for showers and storms moving in late. A few scattered showers and storms are expected across the state Thursday.
By Friday, the pattern changes and more heat and humidity return, bringing another heat wave that likely lingers until at least Monday.
That heat and humidity also increase our chances for showers and storms to develop, particularly in the afternoon and evening hours. Here is the Twin Cities forecast through Saturday, showing that warming trend:
