Dew points over 80 degrees have returned to Minnesota. This time it’s Hallock, in the far northwest corner of the state.
At 2 p.m. Friday, weather sensors at Hallock record a temperature of 91 degrees with a dew point of 81 degrees. This calculates to an oppressive heat index of 110 degrees.
Heat index values at several Minnesota locations are at or above 100 degrees this Friday afternoon.

Minnesota is riding the northern zone of a steamy tropical air mass feeding north from the Gulf of Mexico. This update appears to have pushed the heat index at Hallock even higher, to 111 degrees.

Lakeville: 90 / 75 / 100
Warroad: 88 / 79 / 102
Granite Falls: 91 / 77 / 103
Madison: 93 / 75 / 104
Peak heat index values Friday will hover over 100 degrees across most of Minnesota.
Heat advisories cover most of Minnesota. An excessive heat warning also covers the Red River Valley. The excessive heat warning remains in effect for the greater Twin Cities area until 8 p.m. Friday.
