82 degrees: Madison, Minnesota breaks all-time high temperature record for Nov. 4

Madison in western Minnesota hit 82 degrees Wednesday afternoon. That broke Madison’s all-time record for the warmest temperature on Nov. 4.

The Minnesota DNR Climate Working Group elaborates on the record warmth in southwest Minnesota Wednesday.

Out in western Minnesota, high temperatures of 82 F were recorded by cooperative observers at Redwood Falls, New Ulm, and Milan. This value became Milan's new all-time high temperature record for the month of November.

The highest known temperature recorded by an official observer anywhere in Minnesota during November is 84 degrees F in Winona on November 1, 1950. 

Several locations in Minnesota set high temperatures records again on Wednesday. Here are a few select record reports from the Duluth National Weather Service office.

High temperature records were also set Wednesday across central and southern Minnesota.

The Twin Cities tied the record high of 74 degrees Wednesday afternoon. St. Cloud and Eau Claire set new records.
