Here comes the cold front.

Temperatures are plunging after the warmest start to November on record at many Minnesota locations. Several locations across northern Minnesota have recorded their all-time warmest temperatures on record for November in the past few days.

Steady rains into evening

Bands of steadier, heavier rain showers ride the frontal zone this afternoon and evening.

NOAA’s NAM 3 km resolution model depicts bands of rain with embedded heavier showers and possible thunder as the front moves through eastern Minnesota into western Wisconsin through Monday night.

Much of eastern Minnesota will pick up between a half inch and 1 inch of rainfall through Monday night. The heaviest totals over 1 inch favor southern Minnesota. Here’s the Canadian model precipitation output through 7 a.m.

Temps plunge

Temperatures plunge from west to east behind the cold front. Watch as temperatures freefall from the 60s to the 20s and 30s by Tuesday morning.
